Snakes on a Motherfucking Plane

Welcome to our personal parodies of comic books. You'll have to have read The Ultimates, know about Snakes on a Plane and watched G.I. Joe The Movie to fully appreciate it. I semi-promise that we will never make another strip with so many obscure references in it again.

In case any of you haven't heard of Snakes on a Plane, here's a quote from IMDB

Pulp Fiction star Samuel L. Jackson was so amused by the title of new movie Snakes On A Plane, he signed up without reading the script. The movie features an assassin who intends to kill a passenger on a flight by releasing a batch of deadly snakes. Jackson explains, "I didn't even read the script - I just saw the title, 'Snakes on a Plane' and said 'Ok, good. I'm there.' You have got to love that. That's exactly what it is - 500 poisonous snakes released on a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. They are (set free) on a time release half-way there, so we can't go back, we've got to keep going. It's fun!"

I nice to know that in a world where actors take themselves entirely too seriously, that Samuel L Jackson can still appreciate stupid movies, and a damn stupid one it is. Still he's going to have to do a lot to top his appereance in Deep Blue Sea, perhaps the greatest of Mr. Jackson's storied film career.

I was once a man...

...but over $300,000 in plastic surgery changed all that!

Ultimate Avengers

Since this is an Ultimates Strip I wanted to take the time to give my opinions about the Ultimate Avengers DVD which came out last week or so.

Basically, it's done at about the same quality as the Marvel Cartoons back in the 90's (X-Men, Spider-Man, FF and Iron Man). It basically took the first two arcs of the Ultimates and made them crappy. I always found those Marvel Cartoons back in the 90's to just be dumb versions of the comics, and this was really no exception.

Don't get me wrong, I think those cartoons were good, but when you compare them to Bruce Timm's work on the DC cartoons, they just pale in comparsion. The DC cartoons have always managed to take the essence of the characters and tell new and interesting stories that actually contribute to the mythos of all the characters involved.

I don't get how a comic that's basically written to be a summer blockbuster, could have been translated so horribly. They were handed great Captain America lines like "What are you ladies waiting for, Christmas?!" and "You think this 'A' stands for France!?" and replaced them with a little crybaby who can't even keep his team together.

Then they go for the PG-13 rating, but really only use it to say "Damn" a few times. Make up your mind. Either make it for kids or make it adults, or learn from JLU and actually make something both are intrested in.

They have an intresting subplot involving the Hulk, but it's really quite lame. He turns into the Hulk to fight Aliens, then for some reason turns against the Ultimates? uh ok. Why not just stick to the comics, and have Banner be a turn into the Hulk to give the Ultimates something to fight? Then have him EAT some aliens? That being said, the Hulk fight was pretty damn cool.

Overall, I think it's worth watching, but it's nothing great. I don't feel they improved on the orginal source material at all...but then again it's animated Captain American vs. Hulk, and that inherently is pretty cool. Here's hoping that Ultimate Avengers 2, with a brand new storyline will be much better.

Ultimate Avengers

...and don't forget my favorite line: "HULK WANT FREDDIE PRINZE JR.!!!" is a digital parody comic about Comic Book Characters. The original characters are owned by Marvel, DC and other respective copyright owners. PassFailStudios uses the names and images of these figures for the purposes of satire. The opinions and words expressed on this site should not be construed as text from Marvel or DC comics.
